INFORMATION I am offering icon commissions for the month of August to fundraise for National Cupcake Day for the RSPCA, a non-profit organisation that aims to help animals in Australia. What is National Cupcake Day? National Cupcake Day is a fundraising day where animal lovers are invited and encouraged to bake cupcakes (or other goods) to raise money for the RSPCA and their animals. It's a day that occurs in August, but baking parties can be held on any day of the month. You can read more about it here! What is the RSPCA? RSPCA stands for Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. It is an independent, non-government community-based charity organisation that aims to prevent animal cruelty by enforcing animal cruelty laws, prompting new legislation when required, operating animal care and adoption facilities, and holding community events to raise awareness of animal welfare and encourage adoptions. It is a national Australian organisation. Every year, they receive more than 55,000 cruelty reports around Australia and care for more than 135,000 animals. You can find out more about the RSPCA here. (Thank you Bella for this really neat act!) The RSPCA also offers support to people fleeing from domestic violence. Pets are often the silent victim of domestic violence, and are sometimes the reason why people stay in abusive relationships out of fear. The RSPCA runs programs to assist people and ensure their animals are safe. How do the funds help animals? The below is a really basic breakdown of how these funds (or any funds) will assist the organisation and its animals: $20 provides an abandoned kitten a warm bed, litter tray and a meal tonight. $25 provides an abused dog a warm bed, a meal and a blanket. $55 will buy antibiotics for a sick shelter dog this week. $150 will help desex an abandoned puppy so that they're ready to find their forever home. $350 will help RSPCA keep an inspector on the road fighting animal cruelty for another day. I also believe donated funds assist them in court when charging people with animal cruelty. Where can I find more information? You can find more information about the RSCPA here and Cupcake Day here. What do you get out of this? Nothing monetary. I thought that since I have a platform where I make icons for cash that I could use my commissions to help an organisation that I admire greatly and help animals that I wish I could take home. I'm not a baker by any means, but I thought that since I "bake" a lot of icons that I could propose this to my community and see if anyone would want to contribute to this great cause. I will be asking people offline to donate, too, and will be trying my hand at baking. #godhelpusall ( edit 19-Jul ) Apparently I get milestone incentive rewards from the event, such as free Krispy Kreme donuts ... But I receive no money, and I am not doing this for the free milestone bits and bobs. I would love it if I could adopt a tiger but it appears this is not a milestone to be had. (Rajah will be mine someday ...) Why this? Anyone who knows me knows I love animals with my entire being, and as an owner of three cats that often assist in making my icons (they wreak havoc on my Photoshop and often require me to try and reestablish my workspace), I want to help animals out as best I can. RSPCA is an organisation I hold dear to my heart; I have my cat insurances with them, and I became a Guardian Angel last December and "adopted" a short haired black cat named Max. My donation helped Max over the Christmas period where he had round-the-clock care and hopefully a few warm things to keep him company. Do I have to commission you to donate? No! If you wish to donate but don't want to commission me, you can still donate here. Thank you so much! COMMISSION DETAILS & PROCESS Icons during this period will cost $0.10 per icon. My usual "15 icons free" policy won't apply to this fundraiser. I will not be accepting dreamwidth points. The maximum number of icons I will complete is 150, with the minimum being 15. This is so I can turn icons around quickly on the weekends! If you want more and you're happy to donate that amount, let me know! Pricing will be as follows (an example): 15 icons for $1.50. 25 icons for $2.50. 50 icons for $5.00. 75 icons for $7.50. 100 icons for $10.50. 150 icons for $15.00. All pricing is in AUD. Details All caps must be provided in a zip file. The number of caps in the zip must correlate to the number of icons requested. I will NOT be offering the service of gathering caps or capping content. Please refer to my commission guidelines for what I will and will not do. Please wait for me to confirm your icons are done before you donate. Once I confirm your icons are done (a sample will be provided), please donate to my page. You can PM me your name if you want to ensure I know it's you. Once you've donated, I will pm you your icon set! Turnaround times I usually make icons on the weekend and 2 sets per weekend. For this fundraiser, I am changing my turnaround times slightly. I will still be making the bulk of icons on the weekend due to having enough time to commit to creating a set in one sitting. I will be increasing the number of sets I complete based on how many commissions I receive. (For instance, if I receive 5 for the weekend, I'll complete 3 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday.) I will let you know if I'm running behind or cannot complete your request by the eta that I've given you. ( edit 19-Jul ) Donations When you donate, you'll be asked to fill in personal details on their page to confirm the payment (name, address, phone number and email). You will receive a receipt when you donate, and I will receive a notification of the donation. This notification email I receive will include the name you input into the fields, so please feel free to fill it in as "Jane D" (your preferred first name) without your entire surname! If you're not comfortable donating direct to the page for whatever reason, you can send payment to my PayPal and I will donate to the page your amount. I want to stress I absolutely do not mind doing this as I want everyone to be comfortable! The organisation does request personal details, and does appear to allow for international folk to donate. hi! i'm not really familiar with icon commissioning practices, but i'd like to request a placeholder for 25 icons. though as a note, i'd like them to be from telltale's walking dead game, which is all around very dimly lit, and in my experience a nightmare to icon. here's a quick screengrab for example:

Hey! That's totally okay — if you have any other questions I'm happy to answer them! This commission set is a little out of the ordinary from what I usually do. c:

I've done a Clementine commission before and found the lighting okay! It's not ideal when it's always dark, but it's not the worst lighting I've ever dealt with, fortunately.

From the cap provided, below is how it'd turn out if I colour manipulated it. The one on the left is the original cap and on the right is the altered version (just so you can see how different it is!)
