I've made this post to offer people a chance to provide feedback on their experiences commissioning me. You can use this post whenever you like—now, three months from now, three years. 😌
Over the last two years alone, I've made over 15,000 icons for commissioned use. Most of these icons were produced in conjunction with a fundraiser. If it wasn't for the enthusiasm and generosity of this community, I wouldn't be able to not only be very annoying about the things that I care about (animals, baby!) but I don't think I would have had the opportunity to practice and sharpen my skills in Photoshop. (I have come to enjoy those pesky darkly lit caps because of the practice and kind feedback I've received from people over the last year alone.)
This post is for anyone who wants to share their experience. Yes, it's a post to toot my own horn a little. (While tooting my horn is fun, I am always looking for ways to enhance my commissioning experience and have learned a bit from just talking to people about their expectations and experiences and learnings, especially when commissioning shithouse.) If you'd like to give any feedback privately, my Dreamwidth and Plurk pms are always open.
This feedback post is for any experience, not specifically commissions.
I'm so glad I was able to jump on a commission slot with you. Bear with me, I'll recycle a bit of my previous commentary:
The Quality These icons are magic - if anyone is unsure, please look at the icons on this account, and check out the before-after samples below. I'm so in love with the end results - not only were the caps of spectacularly horrid, discoloured lighting that magically transformed into crisp quality icons, but as the character is a WOC, special attention was given to lifting her skin colour from caps that did their best to hide the skin colour, rather than just brightening everything mercilessly, or using a one size fits all kind of setup for all icons regardless of source material. This is not just a level of artistic integrity I'm seriously impressed by, but also speaks to peaked as a person beyond icon making. I'm so DAMN in awe of the quality of these icons.
Like seriously, this is wizardry and witchcraft. Home makeover shows have nothing on the magic that peaked was somehow able to draw out of these caps.
The Experience More than just the quality, the entire process of getting commissions here is just a great experience and very comfortable. As a customer, you're kept updated along the way, get previws/samples to check out and are always kept in the loop about the process, never left hanging. I'm particularly impressed with the before/after comparisons that help even someone as artistically challenged as I am to get a clear picture of what kind of effort has gone into the icons. And if you then consider that the commission money goes to a charity of your choice during runs like Pawprint Commissions...
Thank you so much to peaked for a wonderful experience and result with my commission. For sure planning to come back happily with more <3
